Youth LEAD is currently looking for new members in Asia Pacific Region. Please see below all relevant information. We would be grateful if you could circulate this to your respective networks and work partners who might
be interested.
About Youth LEAD. Youth LEAD (Youth Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Development) is a network of young key affected populations (YKAP) from the Asia Pacific region. Youth LEAD aims to develop leadership among young sex workers (SW), young men who have sex with men (MSM), young people who used drug (PUD), young transgendered (TG), young migrants and young people living with HIV (PLHIV). Through national focal points, Youth LEAD aims to develop leadership, create platform for network and improve young people’s involvement in their respective communities, and national and regional HIV programming processes. Youth LEAD is currently supported by UNFPA with further support provided by Asia Pacific Regional
Interagency Task Team on YKAP.
Youth LEAD is now seeking new members. Youth LEAD is currently seeking expression of interest from activists from YKAP or young activists who are working closely with YKAPs. Interested applicant should be between the ages of 15 and 24, has experience in working on HIV policy and/or programs, and strong linkages with existing organizations or networks focusing on YKAP and/or people living with HIV. We welcome applications from a broad range of interests and we principally value diversity. Candidates openly living with HIV
are encouraged to apply.
Roles and Responsibilities of Country Focal Points : Country Focal Points are based in the countries where they belong. Their main role will be to liaise and bridge the community to the rest of YKAP organizations and networks in the Asia Pacific region through Youth LEAD members, Youth LEAD Youth Advisory Committee, and Secretariat. Country Focal points identify issues and recognize ongoing efforts with the help of their communities or the communities they serve and provide these information with other Youth LEAD members. Country Focal Points are assisted in this process by Youth LEAD's strategic partners and network members, and may be able to use these facilities to address the issues and/or strengthen ongoing efforts back to the
communities.
You can learn more about the role of the Youth LEAD Country Focal Points in the Term of Reference (TOR) attached.
Interested in joining Youth LEAD should submit the following:
• A CV or resume
• An expression of interest in no more than 500 words telling us your reasons (a) in joining YouthLEAD, (b) on how becoming a country focal point can help you in your work with the communities that you are part of or that you serve, and (c) and
what your membership can contribute to Youth LEAD
• A signed reference from your organization or any organization that you are working with.
Please be noted that these positions in Youth LEAD are on voluntary basis.
